We are currently recruiting a 5-Axis CNC Milling Machinist who will be responsible for all aspects of CNC machining. The successful candidate will also need to follow strict guidelines covering safety, quality and work instructions, conducting regular maintenance checks on machines and equipment to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• To be a fully skilled machine operator in all aspects of 5 Axis CNC machining.
• Dimensional inspection of machined WIP using manual inspection methods (i.e. Vernier, Micrometre, plug gauges, Go/No go gauges).
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, etc.
• Read and interpret drawings & operate one or more CNC machines simultaneously.
• Work alongside team members to ensure that daily targets are met.
• Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer as well as internal standards and specifications (NADCAP and AS9100 standards).

• Able to follow instructions and production schedules & able to act quickly when a problem arises.

Qualifications or Certifications:

• Qualification in CNC operation, apprenticeship trained or significant industry experience.
• Environmental awareness, Manual handling, Abrasive wheel training, calibration control, LOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out) Risk Assessments, SOP Development, RCCA, Basic CI (Continuous Improvement) principles.

Experience:

• 5+ years experience
• FANUC controls
• +/- 5 thou tolerances
• Exotic materials/alloys
• Willing to work shifts
• Able to use measuring equipment - Verniers, Gauges, and Micrometres - Essential
• Reading and following written instruction e.g., SOPs, Technique sheets, drawings, and specifications - Essential
• Experience of working to production targets & basic understanding of lean principles (5S) - Essential
• Experience in Aerospace or similar industry - Desirable
• Basic understanding of lean principles (5S) - Essential
• Quality conscious and be able to work accurately in a busy environment - Essential

• Work in a set routine within an organized cell & Strong PC skills/Literacy.
• Adhering to a laid down procedure and raising issues through appropriate procedures.
